Plans have been unveiled for a major 160-bedroom hotel development at Exeter International Airport.
The new complex will feature a brand new Hampton by Hilton hotel, high-quality dining venue and meeting space facilities and is scheduled to open its doors before the end of next year.
The hotel, which will be operated by Sanguine Hospitality Management Company, features a range of contemporary features including HD television in all bedrooms, walk-in shower rooms, air conditioning and free wi-fi throughout.
This latest development, less than a mile from junction 29 of the M5 motorway, marks another key step in the growth of Exeter International Airport, as the airport comes out of one of its busiest ever summer seasons for holiday makers.
Nick Taplin, MD at Sanguine Hospitality Management Company, said: “A key element of our growth strategy is to develop in areas of strong economic and tourism growth and Exeter certainly fits that bill. The airport’s strong relationship with Flybe is very important and their new training academy is an exciting addition.
“The airport is one of the most progressive in the country, sitting at the heart of the Exeter and East Devon Growth Point, with an aim to be the airport of choice for the south west.
“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to bring together a brand as prestigious as Hampton by Hilton with such a pragmatic partner.”
Jamie Christon, MD of Exeter Airport, said: “We are delighted to be able to announce that the Hampton by Hilton brand will be here on site offering first class accommodation for our passengers and students at the Flybe Training Academy.
“The hotel development is a key part of the airport masterplan and its presence is vital in stimulating passenger growth over the long term.”
