Bank Holiday Getaway

15 thousand inbound and outbound passengers

Exeter Airport is preparing to handle over 15 thousand inbound and outbound passengers over the Bank Holiday weekend.

From Friday to Monday Exeter’s passengers will be leaving on flights operated by Thomson, Thomas Cook, Newmarket Holidays, Skybus, Exeter-based airline Flybe and specialist operators Tangney Tours, Newmarket Holidays and Fly Niki.

Friday sees full flights departing to Menorca, Dalaman, Corfu and Lourdes. The pilgrimage flight will carry 200 passengers, many with mobility issues, so extra members of staff will assist with boarding.

Friday’s inbound flights include one of a series of 19 with Austrian tourists.  GTA-Skyways will be bringing thousands of tourists to enjoy tours of the South West this summer and five coaches will collect passengers from each aircraft arriving from various Austrian airports.

Only a few seats are available on the Saturday flight to Paphos and on the three aircraft departing for Palma. A flight to Naples is also operating for the escorted tour holidays in Italy with Newmarket Holidays.

Exeter Airport’s Sunday flights go to Malaga, Lanzarote, Barcelona, Larnaca and Alicante, with the destination of Tunisia back on the departures board for the first time in two years.

Monday’s flights go to Palma, Las Palmas, Alicante and for the second time in the week, Dalaman allowing 10 day holidays in Turkey for the first time from Exeter.

Skybus will also operate throughout the weekend with up to five flights per day to the Isles of Scilly.

Richard Broadley, Exeter Airport’s commercial manager said: “This is a very busy period for the airport and we are pleased to be able to offer such a wide choice of destinations. There is very little availability as we approach the weekend but Flybe is operating its full range of domestic and European destinations and they may have some seats still available for those looking to get away over the half term break.”
