As the Capital of Scotland, Edinburgh is renowned for its history and culture. The city’s most prominent attraction is 900-year-old Edinburgh Castle, which is open all year round. Sitting atop an old volcanic rock, now known as Castle Rock, the Castle overlooks the main thoroughfare and well-known shopping destination of Princes Street.
The Castle is host to the annual Edinburgh Military Tattoo during the world’s largest performing arts festival, the Edinburgh Fringe which attracts travellers and performers from across the globe.

The city’s National Museum of Scotland is great for families. The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh is located just minutes from the city centre and is the perfect spot to enjoy green space and spectacular gardens with a picnic. If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, why not scale the heights of Arthur’s Seat which sits 251m above sea level and is part of the 640 acre Royal Holyrood Park adjacent to Holyrood Palace, the Queen’s Scottish residence.
Shopping for souvenirs and general high street brands can be enjoyed throughout Edinburgh City Centre. Elite brands are located on Multrees Walk, while Edinburgh’s newest shopping destination, St James Quarter offers an array of clothing, toy stores and eateries.
