Exeter Airport offers flights to Ibiza, one of the Balearic Islands situated in the Mediterranean, from May through to October flying every Wednesday.
Ibiza is an Autonomous community of Spain and being an island in the Mediterranean has a lovely warm climate the year round. The average low temperatures during the coldest winter month are around 8ºC and the highs during the warmest summer months are around 30ºC however the temperature can rise into the high 30’sºC during the summer. The water temperature for Ibiza during the winter months are around 14ºC but can get up as high as 26ºC during the summer.
Ibiza is known for its night life and being a destination for the more active traveller but it has so much more to offer than what most people know of it. Large portions of the Island are protected from development and registered as UNESCO heritage sights.
Boat trips are offered from Ibiza town to the tiny island of Formentra just a couple of miles away. Once there you can hire a bike or scooter in the Harbour town of La Savina and explore the island and some of its hidden beaches.
You can experience Ibiza below the ocean as well with one of the many Scuba centres located around the island and the sea bed is itself a world heritage site. The waters are clear and warm during the summer.
Ibiza also has many quiet and secluded beaches of its own to offer to relax at. During the evening, there many local cafes or restaurants to experience with the local cuisine to be tried for any fish fan, or the islands lamb dishes washed down with locally produced wines or her liquor as well as many local natural organic products on the menu.
