Malaga Cathedral often referred to as La Manquita (one armed woman) built between 1528 and 1782 had plans to have two towers but due to money from the city being donated to American Independence only one tower was ever built giving it its quaint unsymmetrical appearance.
The oldest monument in Malaga is El Teatro Romano and was built in the 1st century BC. The amphitheatre is accompanied by a visitor’s centre where the traveller can learn about the history and Roman influence on the region.
