Newcastle is a vibrant city which has seen a lot of inner city rejuvenation in recent years and as such, has great shopping facilities and a very active nightlife.

Newcastle has been home to some very famous musicians and bands such as Dire straits, Sting, Bryan Ferry, the Animals as well as the folk group Lindisfarne who released their 1971 famous song “Fog on the Tyne”.
