Exeter Airport has been nominated for ‘Best UK Airport’ in the prestigious Travel Weekly Globe Awards.
The Globe Travel Awards are unique, as the trade sector awards are voted for solely by travel agents, with readers of Associated Newspapers voting in the Consumer Awards, providing a mandate from both trade and consumer audiences.
Voting commenced today (19 November) and closes on 11 December 2010. The glittering awards ceremony to celebrate the successes of the travel industry will then be held at Grosvenor House, in London’s Park Lane in January.
Exeter Airport’s category of the Travel Weekly Globes will provide a chance for travel agents to recognise an airport that has gone the extra mile with services or products that exceed the rest.
Jamie Christon, Exeter Airport’s managing director said: “We were very pleased to have been nominated in the Travel Weekly Globes, which are regarded as the most prestigious accolades in the industry.
“For many years the awards have given the travel industry a platform to voice their appreciation of an airport where their clients have received good service. We now hope that during the next few weeks the travel agents in the South West will consider voting for Exeter.”
