A new air-side catering facility at Exeter International Airport will be open in time for Easter passengers in the Departure Lounge. The Airport’s catering provider, Select Service Partner, has invested over £300,000 in a new Caffe Ritazza which replaces the bar built when the airport lounge was expanded in 2003.

The 2000 sq metres coffee shop is located air-side and seats 75. The facility which was built in just four weeks and designed with relaxation in mind, is the perfect place for travellers looking for a haven away from the hustle and bustle of the airport.

Jamie Christon, Exeter Airport’s Deputy Managing Director (left) said; “The Caffè Ritazza outlets are in over 40 international airports across the world and we are delighted that Select Service Partner, who manage all our catering outlets, have chosen to invest in Exeter Airport. We can now provide our passengers with great tasting coffee and delicious fresh food in an inviting and modern setting.”

The outlet will offer an authentic Italian espresso-based coffee menu with a wide range of award-winning coffees from espresso to latte and cappuccino, all made using the traditional Italian method by fully trained baristas.

Caffè Ritazza also has a wide selection of hot and cold snacks, which are all made freshly on the premises daily, including a mouth-watering array of ciabattas or toasted paninis and Caffe Ritazza’s new Mezzalunas – an authentic Italian bread pocket made with olive oil and served either hot or cold. For a sweet treat, there are delicious pastries, cakes and muffins on offer.

Regional Manager for SSP, Chris Power said; “We have been working really hard over the last few weeks to ensure that this fantastic new facility is open ahead of the Easter break. Customers travelling from Exeter can now relax and enjoy a coffee in this brand new unit. But it doesn’t stop there. The popular first floor bar and viewing area is being refreshed and will be ready by the end of the month. Our aim is to bring high quality catering facilities to airports and help make the passenger’s journey a more pleasurable one.”

A smaller coffee shop outlet is situated in the main concourse and this will continue to provide a Caffè Ritazza service for people that are not flying.
