113,598 passengers - The most successful month ever

August passenger figures for ExeterInternationalAirport have again broken records. The airport has recorded the most successful month ever for passengers at 113,598.The latest figures, which have seen an increase of one thousand on last month, are up 3% on same period last year.

The Spanish airport of Malaga dealt with over seven thousand Exeter passengers during August, a rise of 18% for the Flybe scheduled service and 30% for the charter holiday package flights. The Flybe new routes of Amsterdam, Avignon, Nice and Rennes were responsible for a further seven thousand and there were a similar number of passengers on the Turkey routes.The destination airports of Antalya and Bodrum were popular but it was Dalaman that proved most successful with a 286% increase over last year.

Meanwhile, the two routes to Canada saw more than 2,000 passengers using both the newly introduced Toronto Hamilton flights and the Toronto Pearson flights which have been established for nineteen years.

The airport’s facilities have improved greatly and we hope that the success of this summer continues in the months to come as more and more people regard Exeter as their airport of choice.”
