Two England defeats trigger holiday bookings

Airport anticipates passenger increase as late deals are snapped up...

With the possibility that the England football team will soon be knocked out of the World Cup tournament in Brazil, there is a renewed interest in holiday bookings from Exeter Airport.

The increased number of passengers for the first six months of 2014, compared to the previous five years, has dipped for the period where England football supporters had planned to stay at home to watch televised coverage of their team’s games.

However, following the Italy and Uruguay defeats, England will be potentially dropping out at the tournament’s group stage and the airport anticipates that there will be an increase in the bookings for flights departing to holiday destinations as late deals are snapped up.
