Canadian Affair, the UK’s largest tour operator to Canada, has topped the British Travel Awards’ public poll to win the prestigious “Best Tour Operator to Canada” award.
The award comes shortly after Canadian Affair unveiled its summer 2011 programme which includes the eighteenth year for their Air Transat flights from Exeter to Toronto, 23 years for all operators on the route.
Kathryn Munro, Canadian Affair’s Communication & Marketing Director, says: “We are thrilled to have received this accolade. As a direct sell tour operator, we appreciate this more as this award is voted for by the British travelling public – our customers. We strive to always offer the best value flights and holidays to Canada, and we’re delighted that so many UK travellers have endorsed this with their votes.”
The British Travel Awards’ chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton said: “The British Travel Awards are widely considered to be the “Oscars” of the travel industry. It’s the largest awards programme in the UK, created to reward travel companies with the winning accolade being the benchmark for excellence when it comes to finding out who really is the best in the business of travel for the UK consumer. This year, more than any, the competition was fierce and Canadian Affair is to be congratulated on their achievement.”
Companies were nominated by travel industry professionals before being voted for by the British public. In 2009 over 100,000 votes were cast with the results scrutinised and audited by Deloitte LLP.
