Christmas Getaway

Seven thousand passengers over the next four days

Exeter Airport passengers heading for winter warmth this Christmas are departing for mainland Spain and Tenerife today (Friday),  but on Saturday there’s more of a winter feel with three ski destinations and a day trip to Lapland.

This weekend’s flight to Lapland is the third departure from Exeter this month; the first time the airport has had over five hundred parents and children on the flights to see Santa and his reindeer. Other little ones travelling through the airport are excited with the thought of a Disneyland Paris treat over the festive period.

Family and friends are getting together around the country at this time of the year and Flybe’s UK flights are busy reconnecting loved ones this Christmas.  Airport members of staff are therefore gearing up to offer assistance to all passengers especially those travelling alone.

Matt Roach, Exeter Airport’s managing director said: “The run up to Christmas Day is a very busy period for the airport and we estimate that around seven thousand passengers will fly from or into Exeter Airport over the next four days.

“The flights to the Canary Islands with Thomson along with the international destinations offered by Flybe are always popular for the getaway period and the three flights a day to Manchester have also proved invaluable for people connecting through the hub to and from distant worldwide destinations.”
