The Isles of Scilly Skybus service has started the 2014 six day a week service to and from Exeter and the flights, which will operate up to five times a day, will continue until the end of October.
The scenic one hour flight in a sixteen-seat Twin Otter is an exciting start to a holiday with fantastic views of Devon and Cornwall. The journey is part of the holiday experience and there is a spectacular approach to the remote island of St Mary’s.
The Isles of Scilly are a sub tropical paradise benefiting from the warm Gulf Stream which gives the islands a unique micro-climate. They are linked by boat services and visitors are never further than a short walk from a beach or harbour. Boat trips around the off-islands also visit the Eastern Isles, Samson or St Agnes for where seals, puffins and other rare birds can be seen.
The Isles of Scilly accommodation options range from hotels and cottages located right by the sea, to camping and glamping. Stay on St Martins and enjoy the white sandy beaches or try the luxury Hell Bay Hotel on tiny island of Bryher. On Tresco which is home to the world-famous sub-tropical paradise, Abbey Garden, visitors can stay at the spectacular Sea Garden Cottages or the snug New Inn pub.
