One-way fares on offer from under £40

The South West is once again connected to the North East with the return of the regular Flybe flights from Exeter to and from Newcastle.

The vibrant and exciting city of Newcastle is back on the schedule and one-way fares are on offer from under £40 for the business traveller and those wanting a weekend away.

Matt Roach, Exeter Airport’s managing director said: “It is great news that the Exeter and Newcastle route is now back as we look to ensure that Exeter International Airport continues to play a key role as the Gateway into and out of the South West Peninsula. We are delighted that this was just a temporary cessation for the airline on the North East route and that it returns in a week when Flybe have started the London City Airport link and added extra flights to the hub airport of Manchester. “

The weekday mid-morning departures from Exeter will arrive in Newcastle at noon and the one and a quarter hour return flights will see passengers in Devon lunch. The city on the Tyne boasts a number of impressive sights and Newcastle International Airport is just 6 miles from the city centre.

Flybe’s chief commercial officer Paul Simmons said: “The South West is a great destination for North East tourists and we’re delighted to put a link back in place for them and a direct link to the region is great news for North East businesses.”
