Woodland Trust Airport Donation

£4,000 from this summer‰'s official online car park bookings

A local woodland charity is benefiting from car park bookings at Exeter Airport and is now able to better support a wide variety of Devon’s wildlife at risk.

The Offwell Woodland and Wildlife Trust near Honiton have been given nearly £4,000 following the commitment from the airport to donate £1 for each of this summer’s official online car park bookings.

Dougal Syers representing the 50 acre site attended the airport presentation this week with trustee David Tilbury and his wife Rosemary and received a cheque for £3913 from managing director; Jamie Christon.

Mr Christon said: “The Trust is a very worthy recipient of money raised between April and August. We are pleased to be able to support Offwell’s educational and environmental projects and we will continue to support them into next year.”

The spokesman for the Trust, Dougle Sayers said; “We would like to thank the airport and the drivers who booked their car parking at the airport. This financial backing will enable the Trust to continue with its habitat conservation and management programme which is supporting a rich variety of Devon’s wildlife at risk, including the water vole, wood cricket, dormouse and ruddy darter dragonfly.”
