Exeter Airport jointly sponsored the Exeter of Chamber of Commerce lunch at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM) on Wednesday 17 April 2012 and in the magnificent surroundings members were informed about the Norfolk link which is the airport’s newest domestic service.
The direct daily service between Exeter and Norwich was re-launched last month with Flybe franchise partner Loganair. The aircraft operating the flights is a Dornier 328 fast turboprop with 31 seats operating seven-days-a-week and flights on the route start from under £50 one way including taxes.
The airport’s managing director Matt Roach said: “We were very pleased that the route has returned, this time with Loganair. Norwich was the most requested route during its two year absence and since its return we have seen strong advance ticket take-up.”
The Devon to Norfolk link will be welcomed by both the family and friends market and the business community. One man who used the service and was able to mix business with pleasure was Craig Brown, the managing director of the Signs Express Franchise who have their HQ in Norwich.
Marion and Nick Baxter-Sibley of the Exeter franchise played host to Craig Brown during his visit and at the lunch, before conducting a draw for a pair of tickets on the route, he offered words of praise for the link: “One of the main reasons for using the route is time saving; the 75 minute flight compares to seven hours of driving time and the service is perfect for both leisure and business users.”
