Operational note: Emergency Exercise at Exeter Airport today
There will be a multi-agency emergency exercise at Exeter Airport today, Monday 5th October. The exercise will start at 14.00 and is expected to last until 16.00.
The airport undertakes a similar exercise every three years to test its emergency response plan with emergency services and other agencies as part of its Civil Aviation Authority licensing requirements.
During the exercise there will be a notable movement of emergency service vehicles heading towards the airport, although no vehicles will be using blue lights and sirens.
Please note that there is no media facility for this exercise.

Hand Luggage – liquids & large electrical items.
There are currently no changes to the rules regarding liquids and large electrical items in hand luggage. When preparing for security screening at Exeter Airport, please follow the existing guidelines: Liquids must be in containers of 100ml or less and placed in a single, transparent, resealable plastic bag (one per passenger), with a capacity of no more than 1 litre and dimensions of approximately 20cm x 20cm (8in x 8in). All liquids and large electrical items (e.g., laptops) must be removed from hand luggage and presented separately for screening.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping to keep security checks efficient and safe for all passengers.
For more information, please visit our website here and the official UK Government website here
Airport security staff will not let anything through that they consider dangerous – even if it’s normally allowed in hand luggage.
